Non-Surgical Cheek Augmentation is an ideal option for those with:
As we age each, not only does our facial skin lose its elasticity and starts to sag but the deeper soft tissues and bone also shrink and contribute to the signs of ageing. In the mid-face, there is loss of the cheekbone prominence and flattening of the facial features. This is especially common across the mid-face where shrinkage and downward migration of the youthful fat pad on the front of the cheeks causes at first flattening and then progresses to “hollows”.
By adding volume to the cheeks by way of a long-lasting Dermal Filler, the “flattening” or “hollows” across the mid-face can be filled and and a more youthful appearance restored.
If desired, the Cheekbones can also be enhanced with the same dermal Filler.
Here at the Sydney Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery Clinic, we approach this correction in a very artistic way, always mindful to create a very natural ‘look’ that does not deliver an over-filled appearance. In other words, our aim is to deliver a fresher and natural ‘look’ by simply restoring what has been lost, nothing more.
Very importantly, we only use safe and approved Dermal Fillers which actually contain the identical ingredient that occurs naturally in human skin, so the risk of an allergic reaction is so negligible that no pre-treatment testing for allergy is required.
Our preferred Dermal Filler has an average duration of 2-3 years but in some patients, we have seen it last even longer in the order of 4 or more years.
Although, these fillers are already well known to the public, current Australian Government regulations prevent us from naming them. We can, however, forward you printed information on them, including their names, if you contact us and personally request it.
The procedure only takes around 20-30 minutes and is performed very simply and painlessly through a single, tiny entry point in the skin that has been numbed with a small amount of local anaesthetic.
Through this tiny entry point, a fine blunt-tipped cannula is inserted to deliver the Dermal Filler. Importantly, we do NOT inject the Dermal Filler with a sharp needle. Sharp needles require multiple injection points and can cause bruising and lumpiness. Our special cannula technique for cheeks was developed by our Medical Director, Dr Mayson, years ago and since then we have only ever used this technique because of the beautifully smooth and bruise-free results it offers.
Please note that all Dermal Filler injections at our Clinic are performed only by experienced Cosmetic Surgeons. We do not employ Nurse Injectors.
The correction is apparent immediately and you can return to work and social activities after the treatment.
Immediately after treatment, you may have some temporary, minimal swelling of the area due to the Dermal Filler’s ‘hydrophilic’ property of attracting water to itself from the adjacent tissues. However, this is never of a degree that looks odd and, in any event, usually settles within 72 hours.
With our special cannula technique, there should be no bruising or discomfort whatsoever.
This basically depends on how many syringes of Dermal Filler are required. Our Doctor will give you an exact costing prior to any treatment as soon as he/she has determined how many syringes you will need.
Chin Augmentation to improve the profile of those with an under-developed, so-called ‘weak chin’, can be performed either Non-Surgically or Surgically.
At the Sydney Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery Clinic, we only use safe and approved Dermal Fillers which actually contain the identical ingredient that occurs naturally in human skin, so the risk of an allergic reaction is so negligible that no pre-treatment testing for allergy is required.
We have a range of Dermal Fillers suitable for Chin Augmentation but they differ in terms of cost and durations of correction which average anywhere from 6 months to 3 years or more depending on the form of the Dermal Filler.

The products we use can deliver corrections lasting anywhere between 6 months to 3 or more years depending on the brand of Filler chosen. When the correction eventually disappears, you can repeat it, not repeat it (without any consequences), or have a permanent implant surgically-inserted.
This basically depends on how many syringes of Dermal Filler are required. Usually only 1-2 syringes are needed. Our Doctor will give you an exact costing prior to any treatment as soon as he/she has determined how many syringes you will need.
Permanent correction of an under-developed, ‘weak chin’ is achieved by inserting a solid implant.
If you see your own chin as too weak or receding, a chin implant can help correct this. In addition, a chin implant can easily help to balance the facial profile which some patients can feel self-conscious about with a receding chin. A chin implant can be carefully designed to meet your specific needs.
The procedure is performed in Hospital under General Anaesthesia and involves making an incision either under the chin or inside the lower lip. Through this incision, a pocket is made and the implant placed into the pocket. Some chin implants are fixed to the mandible, while others are held in place by the pocket itself. The entire procedure is relatively short, usually under 1 hour.
Chin Implants are made from synthetic materials that are shaped and inserted into the chin through the small incision. The two most common types of implants are made of silicone and Gore-Tex. Silicone has a long history of use in plastic surgery and is very reputable among Plastic Surgeons.
Companies typically make the implant of silicone, and it will feel like your natural chin to the touch. Nobody will be able to tell that you had surgery after you’ve recovered.
